Elf, Jr. The Musical



Based on the beloved holiday film, this hilarious fish-out-of- water comedy follows Buddy the Elf in his quest to find his true identity.  RECT’s production of this YouthStage musical will be directed by RECT Managing Director, Allan Barlow with Musical Direction by Lori Patterson, Choreography by Ami Wilcox, Costumes by Judy Machal Barlow and Stage Management by Molly Pryse.  This Ragged Edge Team will bring years of musical theatre experience to this production!


Public performance dates are scheduled for November 15-17 and 22-24, 2024.  

In addition, there will be school matinees on November 19, 20, 21, and 22, 2024.


Over 45 actors from ages 6-18 sang, danced, and read their hearts out

this past weekend for an opportunity to be cast in RECT’s musical production of “Elf, Jr., The Musical.”  The entire Production Team for “Elf, Jr” was amazed at the talent we saw audition on our stage and the casting decisions were extremely difficulty to make.


Casting a show is like playing a huge game of Tetris.  The Production Team is looking for actors who are the right fit for a place in this particular show. Please remember the “fit” decision usually has little to do with anything under your control when you are auditioning.  Rehearsal availability and scheduling plays a large role in casting a production of this size!  We hope to see all of you again for future RECT auditions!


All this being said…let’s sing “A Christmas Song”!
