The Sound of Music
Unless you have been involved in casting a stage musical production … it is hard to imagine all the things The Production Team must consider after an upcoming show holds auditions.
First … conflicts and rehearsal availability starts the initial process in thinking about casting even before Callbacks. After Callbacks are held … conflicts are reviewed again with certain roles in mind.
Then the creative part of the casting process begins. Review of singing auditions, ability to learn choreography, chemistry on stage, height, age, costuming possibilities, and “the right fit” are just a few of the things that are taken into consideration.
Hours and hours are poured into the casting of a production over the two-
If you are not cast, please know that it most likely had nothing to do with your abilities. It so often comes down to just “the right fit” for that particular show and the vision The Production Team has developed in prior months of preparation.
With all that said we are proud to announce the cast for RECT’s upcoming musical production of “The Sound of Music”!
